You Majored in What by Katharine Brooks is very interesting book. I say this because as a college student i have no idea what i want to do. I am majoring in liberal arts and i am not to fond of it. Chapter's 1 and 2 speak about the many cases college students go through during college and after college. Many of us don't know what we want as a career and the majority of the time we say we want to do something as a career but end up working for something else other than what we graduated with.
Chapter two from my understanding demonstrates a wandering map that can help a college student or college graduate have an idea of what they want to focus on. In my opinion this activity can be very helpful because allot of individuals who have experienced many jobs, skills, in their life usually don't know which way to go. The wandering map helps you focus on the road you are most interested in.
Once i graduate college if i am still undecided on which way i want to go i would do a wandering map. Keeping your mind focus on one career or interest is allot better than having more interest for several things. it'll drive you crazy not knowing what you want.
Don't Worry, you aren't alone. I still don't know what I want to do. But stay in school and continue to build relationships with friends and teachers. These days getting a job has a lot to do with who you know...You will find your calling.
