The websites shown elaborate on the topic of portable skills which are the skills an individual learns or picks up from one job experience and brings it to a new job. Some portable skills i have been good at are customer service. Working for a cellphone company to a clothing store provided not only my communications skills but also sales skills. Working in those types of field made me realize that being bilingual was also a good skill because as a worker your meeting allot of people everyday from different cultures and backgrounds. I speak Spanish and English so i can use these skills to communicate with two different cultures such as Hispanics and Americans. Some examples of portable skills are:
-responsibility
-communication
-customer service
-sense of humor
-outspoken
-problem solving.
Working retail can get hectic but it sure it a lot of fun.I agree you really learn to open up and speak because we constantly are meeting new people with intent to sell sell sell!!

It is a really good advantage having an excellent communication skills. My communication skill is quite weak. What should I do to improve it?
ReplyDeleteYou have a huge advantage in the work force. Being able to speak English and Spanish is a great thing! I unfortunately do not speak spanish and it really, really sucks. I'm hoping my children will pick up on the 2nd language.
